Engaging Community Stakeholders (District Officer, Local Council Functionaries, Paramount Chiefs, Security Forces, Chiefdom Functionaries, Press and Civil Society Organisations) in Koinadugu District. It is a critical strategy of the MLGRD to bring governance closer to Local People through community engagements with a view to ‘localising’ Government agenda. This “land of powerful mixture” as the people would like to be known, is rich in culture and diverse in ethnicity. For its people to  peacefully co-exist  is credit to the level of tolerance and respect for   diversity. The team visited the iconic Lake Sonfon in Dieng Chiefdom. This potential touristic site speaks to the volume of mixed blessings of this district- very fertile land and rich in unexploited mineral wealth. The people of Dieng were quick to confess that it was the first time for a government minister to visit their chiefdom. The Leadership in the MLGRD believes in nurturing relationships with local people and leaders to foster peace.
